Trouble with grammar??

Hey ya'll!

I know we ALL have trouble with grammar. It's an issue. Does the comma go here, here, or even over there , ,? Alas, I come to you with answers! Well, I don't have the answers but this book does. (notice how I didn't use the comma after 'but' because 'this book does' is not a sentence. See, I are smart!)

Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss

from the back
A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the other patrons.

“Why?” asks the confused, surviving waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

“Well, I’m a panda,” he says at the door. “Look it up.”

The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation. “Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.”

This tragedy could have been easily avoided with an understanding of grammar. Come on into the library and check this book out if you too have troubles with punctuation.

See ya here!

Hey Joe. Tried to read that book on my English teachers suggestion and I didn't like it much.. I wanted to ask if any murder mystery-ers are on here? I can't tell from some of the usernames.
